Taproom Bartender

Full Time, Part Time

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone who wants to be a part of our growing hospitality team. This is a part-time hourly position that would require availability on weekends and late nights.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Get to know all of our cider options
  • Maintain and promote a clean and safe working environment
  • Independently complete taproom opening and closing procedures
  • Promptly greet and warmly welcome our guests while also clearly communicating what they can expect from their experience with us
  • Report to work on time
  • Communicate with customer in order to completely satisfy the customer’s expectations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all Taproom Patrons
  • Resolve customer complaints about quality and service
  • Maintain a positive and friendly work environment
  • Attend monthly team building meetings where employees are given ongoing service/cider training
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and storage areas

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a minimum 2+ years of experience in customer service
  • Able to work late nights and weekends
  • Pays attention to details and able to multitask
  • Has the ability to relate to people from all walks of life
  • Great communication skills both verbal and written
  • Inspires co-workers to work effectively as a team
  • TIPS certified (available upon hire)
  • Enthusiasm for Duluth’s craft culture

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical Demands: This position requires an individual who works under a range of circumstances, including: shift work, weekend work, working with challenging patrons, working in the fast-paced environment of a crowded taproom, and working within close proximity of an operating cidery (noise, heavy equipment, odors related to the fermentation process). The Taproom Bartender will likely be required to stand for extended periods of time when fulfilling taproom operations. S/He may also be required to lift boxes 35-50 lbs and move empty / full kegs with the help of a dolly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

We are a very small cidery using the space we have to maximum efficiency. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud most of the time. Temperatures vary seasonally in work areas. The Cider Maker must be capable of lifting 60 lbs multiple times during a shift and able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
